New Delhi: Diwali festival is just around the corner and everyone is too excited for this day. We all know that this festival is one of the most awaited Hindu festivals in India. On this day, people clean their houses and welcome Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. According to Indian traditions, people pray for happiness and wealth in their homes. For Diwali 2022, cleaning is essential as beautifully decorating the house to welcome the gods.
Here is a list of samagri required for Diwali 2022 Lakshmi Puja:
1. Idols: On this day, everyone worships Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. You can find perfect idols of both on the market.
2. Account books: You can purchase new account books to enter into the new financial year.
3. Silk cloth: Every year, good quality red silk cloth for Goddess Lakshmi is required.
4. Red cloth: Remember! Always put the idols on fresh and new red cloth.
5. Stool: To keep the idols and cloth, place a stool where the puja is done.
6. Diyas: For the puja, you will be required five big diyas and twenty-five small diyas.
7. Kalash: Place a new and fresh Kalash to keep water for the Lakshmi puja.
8. Flowers and tulsi leaves: For the puja, flowers, garlands made of flowers, bilva and tulsi leaves are also required.
9. Sweets, paan: The most important samagri for the puja is sweets, fruits, sugarcane and paan.
10. Pancha pallav, duba: Another important samagri is twigs of the mango tree, palash tree, bakul tree, banyan tree and peepul tree form the pancha pallav, and Durva grass.
11. Sarvosadhi: To form the Sarvosadhi, you will need a mura, Jatamasi, Bach, Kushtha, Shaileya, Haradi, Daru-Haradi, Soonthi, Champak and Musta.
12. Sapt-mritika: For Sapt-mritika, the items required are mud which is collected from a horse stable, elephant stable, cow shelter, ant heap, river confluence, lowland and royal palace.
13. Akshata: In case you forget any item from the list, then akshata can be used as a remedy.
Five Days of Diwali Calendar:
- October 22 – Dhanteras or Dhan Trayodashi
On this day, the puja muhurat will be done from 07:00 pm to 08:17 pm.
- October 23 – Narak Chaturdashi or Kali Chaudas
The puja will begin at 05:05 am and end at 06:27 am.
- October 24 – Chhoti Diwali and Badi Diwali
This year, the Lakshmi puja muhurat will start at 06:53 pm and end at 08:15 pm on October 24. On the other hand, the Amavasya tithi will last from 05:27 pm on October 24 to 04:18 pm on October 25.
- October 25 – Govardhan Puja
The puja muhurat is from 06:28 am till 08:43 am.
- October 26 – Bhai Dooj
This day is also known as Bhau Beej, Bhatra Dwitiya, Bhai Dwitiya and Bhathru Dwithiya. This year, this day will fall on October 26 and the timing will last from 01:12 pm to 03:26 pm.
