Chhath Puja 2025: The fourth and final day of Chhath Puja marks the offering of Usha Arghya to the rising Sun. This year, Usha Arghya will be observed on Tuesday, October 28. Offering arghya to the rising Sun is a key ritual of the Chhath festival, as after this, devotees break their 36-hour long fast, concluding the celebrations. Chhath, also known as Pratihar, Dala Chhath, Chhathi, and Surya Shashthi, is celebrated with deep devotion and traditional rituals dedicated to the Sun God.

Usha Arghya is the ritual of offering Arghya which consists of water, milk, or other sacred offerings to the rising Sun during Chhath Puja. It is performed on the fourth and final day of the festival, in the early morning at sunrise. To perform Usha Arghya rituals, devotees stand in water, usually at riverbanks or ponds, and present the offerings to the Sun God. While doing so, devotees express gratitude, seeking blessings and marking the end of their 36-hour fast.

As Usha Arghya rituals are performed early in the morning, here is the sunrise timing for Tuesday, October 28.

According to Drik Panchang, the sun will rise at 6:35 am, making it the auspicious time to offer Usha Arghya. The sun is expected to set at 5:54 pm on Tuesday.
