Bhai Dooj 2022: Major festivals like Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja are approching, with the Diwali spirit reverberating through streets and nooks all across the world. Bhai Dooj this year will take place on October 26 and October 27.
The festival of Bhai Dooj, which historically denotes the bond between the siblings, represents the love between a brother and a sister. On this day, sisters apply “Tika” on their brothers’ foreheads in a gesture of prayer for a long and prosperous life. Occasionally, gifts and treats are exchanged between brothers and sisters. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Yamuna is thought to have nourished her brother Yamraj on Kartik Dwitiya at her own residence. As a result, this day is now also referred to as Yama Dwitiya.
