Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir Seeks New Pujaris: Check Eligibility, Applications Open Now

According to the Trust's notification, recruitment will soon be conducted for numerous priest positions to serve in the Ram Temple.

The much-anticipated Ram temple in Ayodhya is in the process of recruiting new archakas (priests) to serve within its hallowed walls. Before the consecration of Ramlala within the temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended an invitation to interested individuals to apply for these esteemed positions. The application deadline is set for October 31, 2023. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in an entrance examination and subsequently undertake a six-month training program. Once their training is complete, they will be officially appointed as priests. During their training period, these aspirants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 2000.

It is essential to note that Ramlala is revered within the Ramanandiya tradition of Vaishnavism. As such, candidates applying for the position of archak are required to have received Gurukul education and have undergone initiation within the Ramanandiya tradition. Following their training, they will be selected to serve as priests. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has issued an official notification regarding these priest positions.

The consecration of the Lord Shri Ram idol is scheduled to take place at the Ram temple on January 22. It is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will personally participate in the inauguration ceremony on January 22, 2024. In light of the temple’s expansion and the growing number of devotees, the Trust is taking steps to appoint priests for the temple’s worship services.

According to the Trust’s notification, recruitment will soon be conducted for numerous priest positions to serve in the Ram Temple. Candidates from the Ayodhya region will be given preference for these roles. After the entrance examination, successful candidates will embark on a six-month training program, following which they will be officially appointed as priests. Accommodation for priests will be arranged during the training period. Applicants should be between 20 and 30 years of age and can hail from any part of the country. Those interested can apply online through the official website of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The Ram Temple is poised to welcome exceptional archakas to guide its sacred rituals.
