Year Ender 2025: Top 5 countries Indian tourists visited most this year

Indian travellers are increasingly seeking destinations off the beaten path, exploring places beyond the usual tourist spots. In 2025, countries like South Korea, Georgia and Thailand witnessed a notable increase in visitors from India. Despite this trend, well-known destinations still accounted for the majority of outbound travel.

United Arab Emirates (UAE): The UAE continued to be the most popular choice for Indian travellers, attracting large numbers for leisure, business and visits to family or the Indian diaspora. Around 7.78 million Indians visited the country, according to Ministry of Tourism figures.

Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia remained the second most-visited country by Indian travellers, drawing millions for tourism, family visits, business and religious pilgrimages. Government data shows that about 3.42 million Indians travelled to the kingdom.

United States: The US ranked third among Indian outbound destinations. Its appeal stems from leisure tourism, educational opportunities and family connections, attracting approximately 2.14 million Indian visitors last year.

Thailand: Thailand remained a favourite for leisure and spiritual travel. Its rich Buddhist heritage and vibrant tourism offerings continue to draw Indians, with nearly 1.91 million visitors recorded.

Singapore: Singapore saw strong Indian tourist arrivals due to its excellent connectivity, reputation for safety and family-friendly attractions, making it a consistent choice for travellers from India.
