Recent Bollywood Movies That Were Remakes Of Hit South Indian Films: Loveyapa, Deva And More

Bollywood movies have been making remakes of South Indian films for many years now. Some of them were well received by the audience, while, others were completely rejected. Check the list of recent Bollywood projects that were the remakes of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or Kannada movies.

Loveyapa, starring Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan, released in theatres on February 7. It is the remake of the hit Tamil movie 'Love Today', starring Pradeep Ranganathan, Ivana, Raveena Ravi, Yogi Babu, Sathyaraj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Akshaya Udayakumar, Prathana Nathan, Adithya Kathir and Aajeedh Khalique.

Deva stars Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a police officer, who is skilled in his work but defiant, gets a job to investigate a big case. The movie is the remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police but the climax of both the films are different.

Mrs, starring Sanya Malhotra, is a powerful narrative about a married woman who launch on a journey of self-discovery while managing her daily life in the kitchen. The film also stars Kanwaljeet Singh, Siya Mahajan, and Nishant Dahiya in key roles. It is the remake of hit Malayalam movie 'The Great Indian Kitchen'.

Baby John stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. The movie revolves around John, whose peaceful life with daughter Khushi is disrupted by a sex-trafficking gang. This reveals his past as Deputy Commissioner Satya. It is inspired by Atlee's Tamil movie Theri.
