Movies you must watch once in life

Some films aren’t just movies they’re experiences that stay with you forever. From groundbreaking storytelling to unforgettable performances and timeless impact, these are the movies every cinephile should watch at least once.

Casablanca (1942) - It is an American romantic drama directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Set during World War II, the film follows an American living in Casablanca (Bogart) who must decide between being with the woman he loves (Bergman) or helping her husband (Henreid), a resistance leader, escape the Vichy-controlled city and continue fighting the Nazis.

Citizen Kane (1941) - Directed, produced, and starred in by Orson Welles, who co-wrote it with Herman J. Mankiewicz, Citizen Kane was Welles’s first feature film. The story looks at the life of Charles Foster Kane, a character inspired by real-life American media tycoons like William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, as well as Chicago businessmen and aspects of the writers’ own lives.

Parasite (2019) – Directed by Bong Joon Ho, who co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won, Parasite is a South Korean black comedy thriller. It follows a poor family that slowly infiltrates the lives and home of a wealthy family. The film stars Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, Jang Hye-jin, Park Myung-hoon, and Lee Jung-eun.

The Searchers (1956) – Directed by John Ford and written by Frank S. Nugent, based on Alan Le May’s novel, The Searchers is an American Western set during the Texas–Indian wars. John Wayne stars as a Civil War veteran who, with his adopted nephew (Jeffrey Hunter), spends years searching for his kidnapped niece (Natalie Wood). The film was shot in VistaVision and Eastmancolor, processed by Technicolor.

Alien (1979) – Directed by Ridley Scott and written by Dan O’Bannon (based on a story by O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett), Alien is a sci-fi horror about a commercial spaceship crew investigating a derelict alien ship, only to be hunted by a deadly extraterrestrial creature. The cast includes Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto.
