IPL 2026 Auction: Purse remaining for CSK, RCB, KKR, MI, LSG, GT, RR, SRH, PBKS and DC

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction set for December 16, check out the purse remaining and retained players from all 10 franchises ahead of the big event

Chennai Super Kings: CSK has made bold moves by releasing big names like Ravindra Jadeja, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Pathirana, and Sam Curran. With Rs. 43.40 crore left and 9 slots (4 overseas), CSK will be aggressive at the auction. The core remains strong with MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Noor Ahmad, Khaleel Ahmed and more retained.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: RCB has Rs. 16.40 crore and 8 slots (2 overseas) to work with. They have retained a strong lineup with Virat Kohli, Hazlewood, Phil Salt, Patidar, Tim David, and others. Releases include Livingstone, Lungi Ngidi and Mayank Agarwal.

Kolkata Knight Riders: KKR holds the largest purse (Rs. 64.30 crore) and has 13 slots (6 overseas) to fill making them a major force at the auction. They have moved on from Russell, Nortje, Moeen Ali, de Kock, and more. Core players like Rinku Singh, Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Umran Malik are retained.

Mumbai Indians: MI has the smallest purse at Rs. 2.75 crore with 5 slots (1 overseas), making their auction approach extremely restricted. They retain a star-studded lineup including Rohit Sharma, Bumrah, Hardik, SKY, Tilak, Trent Boult and more. Several overseas players like Mujeeb, Topley, Lizaad Williams have been released.

Lucknow Super Giants: LSG goes into the auction with Rs. 22.95 crore and 6 slots (4 overseas). Retentions include Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, Marsh, Shami among others. The team has released big names like David Miller, Ravi Bishnoi, and Shardul Thakur.

Gujarat Titans: GT enters the auction with Rs. 12.90 crore and 5 slots (4 overseas). They retain a powerful group featuring Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Rabada, Siraj, Buttler, and more. Notable releases include Coetzee, Shanaka, Rutherford and Mahipal Lomror.

Rajasthan Royals: RR goes into the auction with Rs. 16.05 crore and 9 slots (1 overseas). The franchise has stunningly brought in Jadeja and Sam Curran, while retaining stars like Jaiswal, Hetmyer, Jofra Archer, Parag. They released Sanju Samson, Nitish Rana, Hasaranga and more.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: SRH holds Rs. 25.50 crore with 10 slots (2 overseas) available—giving them good flexibility. They retain a solid group headlined by Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Klaasen, Harshal Patel, Abhishek Sharma. Major releases include Mohammed Shami, Farooqi, Zampa and more.

Punjab Kings: PBKS carries Rs. 11.50 crore with only 4 slots (2 overseas) left to complete their squad. They’ve released Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis and Hardie, but retained a strong core with Arshdeep, Jansen, Stoinis, Shreyas Iyer, Chahal and others.

Delhi Capitals: DC has freed up a decent purse of Rs. 21.80 crore with 8 slots (5 overseas) open. Key retentions include KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and others. Major releases include Faf du Plessis and Fraser-McGurk.
