The “I Love Mohammad” campaign is not an expression of love — it is a symptom of decay. It exposes how far contemporary Indian Muslim society has drifted from the Prophet’s message of character, peace, and moral strength, replacing it with hollow displays and emotional theatrics.
Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) never demanded grand spectacles to prove devotion. His life was built on truth, justice, forgiveness, and intellectual clarity. True love for the Prophet is not a performance — it is a way of life. Yet today, devotion has been reduced to slogans, banners, and street displays that mask a deep spiritual and intellectual vacuum.
The tragedy runs deeper. A powerful religious class has, for decades, deliberately kept the community trapped in the abyss of ignorance. Instead of encouraging education, self-reflection, and critical thought, they have nurtured a culture of ritualism and blind allegiance. Why? Because an uninformed community is easier to control. It can be whipped into emotional frenzy at will, and then bargained away for political influence or personal gain. This is not faith — this is manipulation dressed in religious robes.
Contrast this with the Prophet’s own actions. When he visited Taif, he was pelted with stones and humiliated. Angel Gabriel offered to destroy the town — but the Prophet refused, praying instead for their forgiveness and guidance. When a Jewish woman poisoned his food in vengeance for her family’s suffering, he chose forgiveness over revenge. These are not stories of outrage; they are examples of towering moral leadership.
And yet, today’s leadership thrives on outrage. They do not preach the Prophet’s forgiveness, they monetize hurt. They do not nurture knowledge, they manufacture obedience. They do not elevate the community, they keep it kneeling.
If Muslims truly love the Prophet, then let that love be reflected in character, knowledge, and courage — not in orchestrated campaigns that only serve the gatekeepers of power.
The time has come to call this out. Faith must return to the Prophet’s principles — not the Maulana’s politics.
