Aishwarya Sheoran—her name might sound familiar. She is a former Femina Miss India 2016 contestant who captivated everyone with her beauty and grace. In 2014, Aishwarya was crowned Delhi’s Clean and Clear Face Fresh, and in 2015, she won the Miss Delhi title. However, what many may not know is that in 2018, Aishwarya cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt, securing the 93rd rank in the All India rankings. Who Is Aishwarya Sheoran?
Aishwarya Sheoran was born and raised in Rajasthan. Her father, Colonel Ajay Kumar, is the Commanding Officer of the 9th Telangana NCC Battalion, While her mother, Suman, is a homemaker. The Sheoran family now resides in Mumbai. She completed her schooling in Delhi and attended Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, where she scored an impressive 97.5% in her Class 12 board exams. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. Her interest in becoming a fashion model began during her college years. She later pursued modeling as a career and competed in high-profile beauty pageants in 2014, eventually being crowned Miss Clean and Clear Fresh Face.
In 2015, Aishwarya Sheoran won the Miss Delhi title. Later after one year she emerged as one of the finalists in Miss India 2016, Rashmita Harimurthy eventually won the pageant at that time
From Miss India to UPSC
After making her mark as one of the finalists in the Miss India pageant, Aishwarya had other life and career goals in mind. She aspired to become a civil servant and serve the country. In 2018, Aishwarya qualified for IIM Indore but chose not to join, instead focusing on her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). She studied diligently on her own, without attending any coaching classes. Her hard work paid off when she successfully cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 93.
One of the rare decisions Aishwarya made after cracking the UPSC was opting for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) instead of the IAS or IPS cadres.
Aishwarya Sheoran, now a senior officer in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), plays a crucial role in shaping India’s foreign relations.
