Typically, the percentage of candidates who clear the UPSC exam in their first attempt is less than 10%. However, with hard work and dedication, it is possible to succeed on the very first try. Srishti Dabas from Delhi is a shining example of this achievement, having cleared the UPSC exam in her first attempt while working at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Srishti Dabbas has cleared UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 with an all India Rank of 6 without any coaching. She topped her IAS exam with her self-study and that too in her initial attempt. Srishti was a working professional at Resreve Bank Of India in Mumbai. She hails from Delhi and has been residing in the capital since her schooling days. SHe completed her post graduation in Political Science from IGNOU through distance learning.

Success Strategy

Srishti firmly believed in consistent daily study and self-confidence. Remarkably, she did not attend any coaching classes. Her dedication to self-study boosted her confidence, enabling her to achieve her IAS dream on her very first attempt. For the examination, she chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject, aligning with her postgraduate degree in Political Science. In preparation for the interview, she diligently read various books and four newspapers daily. Srishti’s fascination with the IAS grew throughout her educational journey, driving her to work tirelessly to achieve her goal.

About Her

IAS Srishti Dabas was born on October 13, 1998. Raised by a single mother, Srishti set high aspirations early in life during her school years in Delhi. She completed her schooling at Ganga International School, where she excelled academically, topping the CBSE Class 12 board exams in 2016-17 with an impressive 96.33% of marks. In 2020, she earned a BA degree in Political Science from Indraprastha College. She then pursued her postgraduate studies, completing an MA in Political Science from IGNOU.

Devoted Kathak Dancer

Beyond her academic achievements, Shristi is also a talented Kathak dancer, intending to pursue her passion for dance alongside her Civil Service career.
