His Father Former Chief Justice Of India – DY Chandrachud
In his farewell speech, former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud recounted a personal anecdote about his sons, Abhinav and Chintan, both practicing lawyers. He shared that he once asked them to argue cases in the Supreme Court so he could see them more frequently. However, they declined, emphasising the importance of maintaining professional integrity while their father served as a judge.
”They told me, ‘Dad, we shall do it after you demit office. Why should we bring disrepute to your name and ours by practicing in SC when you are a judge?’ I am truly blessed to have children who have that ethos,” Chandrachud remarked.

A bench led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar acknowledged the request and assured that the matter would be listed for hearing within two to three days.
