In 2019, Nalin Khandelwal from Sikar, Rajasthan, topped the NEET exam with an outstanding score of 701 out of 720. He achieved a remarkable 99.9999 percentile and said his success came from revising NCERT books multiple times.
Currently, Nalin is training to become a doctor after topping NEET 2019, he joined Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) in New Delhi, one of India’s top medical colleges, to study MBBS. He is now in the final stage of his studies and working as a medical intern.
Nalin worked day and night to prepare for NEET. He studied for about 12–13 hours every day. He attended coaching classes at Allen Career Institute in Jaipur for six hours and then spent another six to seven hours studying on his own.

STUDY JOURNEY
After topping NEET, he gave an interview and spoke about the importance of multiple readings of NCERT books and analyzing past NEET papers to understand question patterns.
During his preparation period, Nalin completely ignored social media and did not even touch his smart phone so that he can stay away from any sort of distraction.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Nalin comes from a family of doctors. In 2019, his father, Dr. Rakesh Khandelwal, worked as a paediatrician at a private hospital in Sikar, and his mother, Dr. Vanita Khandelwal was a gynaecologist. His elder brother, Mihit Khandelwal, was studying MBBS at SNMC Medical College in Jodhpur.
Nalin had an outstanding academic record before his NEET success. He scored 95.8% in his CBSE Class 12 exmas and 92% in Class 10.
Nalin studied at Vidhya Bharti Public School, then St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School, and completed Classes 11 and 12 at Prince Academy in Sikar.
In school, he took part in many activities like skating, cricket, quizzes, dancing, and parades. As he grew older, he enjoyed table tennis, debating, acting, and music.
In 2019, he had not chosen a medical specialty, but now, with his internship at MAMC, he is steadily working towards becoming a doctor.
