Amid the high security operation near the India-Pakistan border, a small act of kindness has left a lasting impression on the Indian army and the entire Nation. Here we are talking about a small boy, Shravan Singh, who is just a 10-year-old, who dreams of being an Indian Army soldier in the future, stood up and helped the army soldiers not with weapons, but with kindness, with his innocent will to help them feel refreshed in that tense situation.
During Operation Sindoor, a significant military operation carried out in Punjab, Shravan Singh, the son of local farmer Sona Singh, surprised everyone. While the atmosphere in Punjab was tense and soldiers were ready to serve the nation and keep the region safe, this little hero did something beautiful, he began serving milk and lassi, and even ice to the jawans who were camping in his farmland.
Without any expectation for any kind of recognition or reward, the boy made it his mission to bring a sense of comfort to those soldiers who were staying there. Braving the summer heat and security checkpoints, he walked tirelessly through the area, carrying large containers of milk and cool lassi, offering them with a smile and folded hands.
“I wasn’t scared. I want to be a soldier when I grow up. I used to bring water, lassi, and ice for the soldiers. They gave me food and ice cream. I’m very happy. I want to become a soldier and serve the country. They loved me a lot,” Shravan Singh said while being asked about his beautiful act.
His efforts did not go unnoticed. The Indian Army, who were deeply moved by this young boy’s innocent yet brave service, honoured him with a token of appreciation- a heartfelt gesture that acknowledged not just his service, but the emotion behind it.
Images of the boy receiving special recognition from Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, GOC of the 7 Infantry Division, have now gone viral across social media platforms. People on social media have commented with several blessings and praises for Shravan, regarding his small but heart-touching act.
Sona Singh, the father of the small boy, said, “The Army was stationed on our fields. From the first day, Shravan began helping them – bringing milk, water, lassi, and ice. He never missed a day. We stood by him. He stood by them,”
This story truly restores faith in humanity. The boy’s actions not only quenched the soldiers’ thirst but also refreshed the nation’s spirit.
