Many women have found their way into Bollywood after winning beauty pageants like Miss India and Miss Universe. They became famous stars, featured in numerous films. But some former Miss India’s winner decided to take a different path after spending time in the industry. One of them is Aditi Arya Kotak, who won Femina Miss India in 2015 and also represented India at Miss World that same year.

The 31-year-old Aditi started her acting career with the Telugu film Ism and later played the lead role in the 36-episode Hindi web series Tantra. In 2021, she made her Bollywood debut in the film 83, a sports drama about India’s 1983 World Cup victory. That film was her last acting role. After that, Aditi decided to move to the US to pursue an MBA at Yale University, where she studied until May 2023.

In 2024, Aditi co-founded Alum-n-i, a platform which aimed at helping students broaden their horizons through global education. Aditi is now married to Jay Kotak, the son of Uday Kotak, India’s richest banker and the founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank. According to Forbes, Uday Kotak’s net worth is USD 14.6 billion. Jay Kotak, Aditi’s husband, is also the co-head of Kotak811, the digital banking branch of Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Aditi was born in Chandigarh and later moved to Gurugram. While competing in beauty pageants, she also worked as a research analyst at Ernst and Young. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Shaheed Sukhdev College, University of Delhi (2011-14). Today, Aditi is a well-known entrepreneur with 350K followers on Instagram.
