Anant Thackeray, a resident of Amravati district in Maharashtra, transformed his life through hard work and determination, turning a small tea stall into a thriving business.
Once struggling with a low-paying private job and long working hours, Anant decided to take matters into his own hands. With just ₹500, he started a tea stall named ‘Friends Chai’ from January 18 to 22. Today, he earns up to ₹90,000 per month from his humble venture. Located near VMV College, his stall has become a symbol of struggle, resilience, and self-reliance.
Anant’s story is truly motivating. After quitting his low-wage job, he gathered the courage to start his own business. With no land or assets and a financially struggling family, Anant’s educational journey was also cut short. He was unable to complete his B.Com degree. Despite these setbacks, he refused to give up. A small tea stall became the turning point in his life, and today it is his primary source of income. His stall has been running for 8 to 10 years and has helped him support his family.
Anant’s journey to entrepreneurship began when he was in his second year of B.Com. At that time, he found himself burdened with family responsibilities and had to leave his studies to support his household. He started working in a private job, but it came with its own set of challenges. He had to work 12 to 13 hours a day, leaving him no time for anything else. His salary was insufficient to cover the household expenses and his children’s education. The long hours and low pay made his life even harder.
After a while, Anant began to think about starting his own business. However, lack of capital became a major hurdle. He postponed the idea for some time but never gave up on his dream. One day, while passing by VMV College, he noticed that there were no shops in the area. He saw an opportunity to start a tea stall. This moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
Initially, there were few customers, but over time, the number of patrons increased, and so did his sales. From earning ₹300 to ₹500 a day, Anant’s income now averages ₹2,500 to ₹3,000 daily, totaling up to ₹90,000 per month.
