Zabardast..Redmi 5 Plus=iPhone X

New Delhi, Feb 6:

New Delhi, Feb 6: It was already known that Xiaomi was working on a new device. The smartphone will be called as Redmi Note 5. There have been several leaks and speculations about the device in the past few weeks. The device will finally ready to be launched on February 14, 2018, at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi

As per reports, the Redmi Note 5 will be price tagged at  CNY 999 (Rs 9700) for 3GB RAM/ 32 GB ROM variant while CNY 1299 for 4GB RAM/ 64 GB ROM in China, it could be same in India, if not lower in India.

In the new update, Redmi 5 Plus is said to get iPhone X-like navigation gestures which means that the on-screen buttons will be removed to save the extra precious screen space. The company had already introduced these gestures in the Mi Mix 2 but, it was a beta version update. However, it is unclear as of now, whether these gestures will arrive for the general public.

These gestures resemble the iPhone X a lot, like, in order to reach the home screen, the user has to swipe up from the bottom of the screen and if a user swiping from the bottom to the top and pauses for a second, it brings up your recent apps. Other gestures include swiping from the left or right of the screen.

Redmi Note 5 was also spotted on an e-commerce website OppoMart in November. The specs mentioned on the website suggest that Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display with a nearly edge-to-edge screen.

The smartphone could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The device is said to run Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 and will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

On the camera front, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to sport 12MP rear camera and a 5MP camera on the front whereas previous rumours suggested that Redmi Note 5 could sport dual 16MP+ 5MP cameras on the back. Redmi Note 5 is rumoured to run Android 7.1.2 Nougat but one can't deny the fact that Xiaomi could bring Android Oreo with the new phone.

Some reports also suggest that Xiaomi could launch two different processor variants of Redmi Note 5, one could be Qualcomm for Indian markets and one with a MediaTek processor for China.
