Lucknow: At Centre, PM Narendra Modi is walking the talk, and Yogi Aditynath is doing the same in Uttar Pradesh. Taking the 'Sabka Saath, Sabkaa Vikas' slogan to a new level, Yogi has decided to oraganise mass weddings of Muslim girls.
BJP's Mulsim Outreach
The UP government has decided to give financial assistance to poor Muslim families for marriage of their daughters. With anti-triple talaq stand winning hearts of Mulsim women, with this step BJP is likely to make further inroads in the Muslim community.
Further, the state government will also organise mass weddings for Muslim girls under a 'Sadbhavna Mandap' scheme that will be jointly run by the state and Central government.
The pilot will kick off with 100 mass wedding across the state. If the response is good, then such mass weddings will be held twice a year.
Yogi wanted mass weddings of poor Mulsim girls
The UP government gives Rs 20,000 to BPL families for their daughter's marriage. But the scheme has little Muslim participation. Yogi saw this as an oppourtunity for his Muslim outreach programme."I am extremely happy that the chief minister made the proposal of Sadbhavna Mandap," Mohsin Raza, the Minister of State for Minority Affairs, was quoted as saying.
