Yogi is superhit among Muslim women, triple talaq victims seek help

Lucknow: Contrary to what one may think, Muslim women have a lot of faith in firebrand UP CM Yogi Adityanath. These women are coming out in large numbers to seek help form Yogi. It is being said that a large number of Muslim women voted for BJP because of its stand on triple talaq. Most of those seeking help are victims of triple talaq.

One of those seeing Yogi's help is businesswoman Aliya Siddiqui from Kanpur. Aliya alleges that she received talaq through speed post within three month of her marriage. The man Nasir Khan, who married Aliya Siddiqui in November 2016, sent her three divorce papers in January 2017 through speed post.

Aliya alleges that Nasir, was married to some other woman since 2014, had married her just for dowry."We even gifted them Swift Desire car as demanded by his family. But on the weeding day, they demanded a bigger car saying that he is a reputed government employee," she was quoted as saying in media

"How can triple talaq happen through speed post? I will go to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the Prime Minister for justice," she said. “Now I am being threatened that I will be murdered, acid will be thrown on my face,” said Aliya who runs her own business. She is looking at Yogi for security now.

Other `victims' of triple talaq, who have sought Yogi's help, include a vegetable seller’s daughter, a Lucknow-based kidney patient and a college teacher from Meerut.

Several anti-triple talaq Muslim women met UP minister for women and family welfare Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Tuesday.

On Monday, Yogi had met a 22-year old woman Shabreen, daughter of a vegetable seller in Lakhimpur. She was divorced by her husband on phone.
