Yogi Gift..Bumper 150000 police jobs in UP, go for it

New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath will soon give a big gift to the younsters in Uttar Pradesh. The Supreme Court on Monday cleared Yogi's plan for a massive recruitment drive for the state police.

UP CM had said that he plans to recruit about 30,000 constables and 3000 sub-inspectors each year to fill vacant positions by September 2021 in the most populous state. To strengthen the police force, the SC on Monday directed state government to fill up the vacancies of 3,000 sub-inspectors and 30,000 constables.

In case of delay the Principal Secretary (or senior-most bureaucrat in the Home Ministry) will have to take the blame, the apex court said.

With a gap of 1.5 lakh vacancies, UP has the biggest shortfall in police in the country. The sanctioned strength of police in UP is of 3.5 lakh constables and officers.

There are about 5.52 lakh vacant posts in the police forces across the country, and last week SC had asked states to urgently fill these posts.
