Yami Gautam turns 30: Don't miss these lesser known facts

New Delhi, Nov 28: Beautiful actress Yami Gautam turned 30-year-old today. The actress was born in the beautiful state Himachal Pradesh and grew up in Chandigarh. She always desired to join the Indian Administrative Services (IAS and graduated in law. However, fate had something else in store for the stunning actress. 

At a small age of 20, Yami moved to Mumbai and clinched a TV show namely Chaand Ke Paar Chalo and followed it by another show Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam. After her brief stint on the small screen, the actress made her debut in the Kannada film industry with the film Ullasa Utsaha. Soon Yami featured in a Punjabi and a Telugu film. After these fillms, Yami forayed into Bollywood with Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor. 

Vicky Donor proved to a  superhit film and helped Yami establish herself in Bollywood. Later on, Yami worked in films like Badlapur, Action Jackson, Sanam Re, Kaabil and will be next seen in Uri. 

As she turns a year older today, let us take a look at some of the lesser known facts about the actress: 

Yami is very close to causes related to environment and animals. The actress always makes sure to give back to her roots. Some time back,  she built her own greenhouse and organic garden in her house located in Himachal.

Yami is a voracious reader and very fond of reading romantic novels and her favourite time of the day is when she is alone with her favourite novels. Yami's all time favourite author is Nicholas Sparks.

Yami Gautam was a law student. But destiny had planned something else for her when opportunities for acting knocked her door. Yami pursued her passion for acting and has to leave law half-way through.

Yami hates to work out around the four walls of a gym. She loves to workout more in open spaces thanks to her trainer who curated workouts for this fitness lover. She does extensive functional and battle rope workouts in open grounds.

Yami Gautam is now a trailer pole dancer. Taking her passion for dance and fitness further, Yami trained under renowned artist Aarefa.

Yami is very fond of tea and whenever she travels abroad, she makes sure to have a kit that goes along with her. She loves the flavour of Indian chai, Yami travels everywhere with her chai kit.
