New Delhi, Dec 16: After launching Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus with 18:9 bezel-less displays in China, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to come up with another super smartphone and it will be called Redmi Note 5. It will be a successor to company's most popular smartphone Redmi Note 4. Ahead of its official announcement, there have been several leaks and rumours which suggests that it will be an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 4. One such rumour hints that Xiaomi may make the Redmi Note 5 official in January 2018.
A couple of images of the Redmi Note 5 have been leaked on the Chinese micro-blogging site -- Weibo. If leaked pictures to be considered, the upcoming Redmi Note 5 will feature all screen display and dual cameras at the back. Overall, it will be a much-improved version of the Redmi Note 4, be it in terms of display, design, camera, or even the hardware. The smartphone may feature a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
The smartphone is expected to retain the same FHD+ 1080 x 2160 pixel screen resolution and powered by powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery. The upcoming Redmi Note 5 may come in two variants -- one with 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, while the other will be 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
For photography, the Redmi Note 5 may sport two 12-megapixel cameras at the rear side while Redmi Note 4 comes with a 13-megapixel camera at the back. The front camera may not see any change when compared to its predecessor and will come with a 5-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to support dual-SIM in hybrid SIM and will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
