New Delhi, Nov 16: Chinese retail giant JD.com has hinted that Xiaomi's latest smartphone Redmi Note 5 will be launched soon. Dubbed as successor to Xiaomi's best-seller Remi Note 4 was also spotted on Weibo and its major highlight is its edge-to-edge bezel-less screen. Latest report suggests that Redmi Note 5 may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which supports full-screen devices with an FHD+ resolution.
While Xiaomi already has Mi Mix and the Mix 2 bezel-less technology. The Mi Mix and the Mix 2 are mid-range smartphones of the company while Xiaomi's Redmi range is known for their affordability aspect which automatically suggests that Redmi Note 5 will get a bezel-less screen, making it the cheapest Xiaomi phone with such a feature.
Rumours also suggest that Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch near bezel-less screen with an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio which would make the smartphone taller rather than wider.
Furthermore, Redmi Note 5 may sport a dual camera on the rear consisting of one 16MP camera and another 5MP camera. It would be interesting to see the functionality of the dual camera system in Xiaomi's upcoming phone.
