Skardu (Gilgit Baltistan): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party of prime minister Imran Khan, has secured a majority in the legislative assembly of Gilgit Baltistan and is set to form the government in the disputed region.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had managed to win only 10 seats in the general elections. But the PTI managed to gain the majority after getting support from six independents and allotment of six reserved seats. The PTI thus managed to secure 22  of the 33 seats in the Gilgit Baltistan assembly.

Of the 33 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly, 24 are contested through direct elections while the rest are reserved seats. Of these, six are reserved for women while three are for professionals and technocrats.
