Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan faced a strange situation during a parliamentary meeting of the ruling coalition parties.
Pakistan's Defence Minister Pervez Khattak complained to Imran Khan that the government was ignoring the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan got angry over this. The Prime Minister scolded the Defence Minister for attempting to blackmail the Pakistan government.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan was presiding over a meeting of the ruling coalition parties held at the Parliament House. The meeting approved the controversial Supplementary Finance Bill-2022, commonly referred to as the Mini Budget.
Pakistan govt to provide gas connection in KP soon
After his meeting with the defence minister, Prime Minister Imran Khan sat in his room almost all day and met several MLAs of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
Imran Khan also met members of other parties who are the ruling coalition. According to a report, the defence minister, while attending the meeting, said that if the people of KP were not given gas connections as soon as possible, they would not vote for Prime Minister Imran Khan.
People of KP will not vote for PTI
However, Khattak told reporters after the meeting that he had not spoken harshly to the Prime Minister nor had he threatened PM Khan not to vote. Sources said that Khattak was also of the view that the government was ignoring KP in terms of provision of electricity and gas while people from other areas were enjoying these facilities to the fullest.
The report further said that if the situation of KP remains the same then the people of KP will not vote for PTI in the coming elections.
