Islamabad: The only Asian elephant in a Pakistan zoo, Kaavan, who is struggling with loneliness, has been sent to the Sanctuary of Cambodia in Islamabad.
Officers and advocates of all animal rights attended the Islamabad Zoo in Kavan's farewell ceremony.
Pop star campaign:
Now Kavan will be able to lead a better life with other elephants. Kavan is a 'music lover', so the children also sang a farewell song for him at his farewell party. Animal rights advocates Pop Star Cher campaigned to save him.
After this, Kavan is sent to an elephant sanctuary, where he will not feel lonely.
Will get training:
To make Kavan's farewell memorable, many legalists and big officials including climate change minister of Pakistan attended the event. Balloons were released in the sky, music was played. Four Paws spokesman Marion Lombard said it was not intended to airlift an elephant weighing 4.8 tonnes but training Kavan.
He said, now after training for a week in Cambodia, he will be trained with international experts.
