According to the information received, 7 people have died in China due to this virus, while more than 60 people have been infected. This new virus is spreading to people there due to the bite of an insect.
According to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mouthpiece Global Times, the new virus is likely to infect humans through insect bites and so far it has killed 7 people and infected more than 60 people.
According to the Chinese newspaper, the symptoms of the new virus has been identified as a severe fever. More than 37 people have been reported to be infected with the virus in east China's Jiangsu province, while 23 people from eastern China's Anhui province were also found to be infected.
Global Times conducted a case study of a woman named Wang in Nanjing. According to reports, Wang, who lives in the capital of Jiangsu, was suffering from the virus, with early symptoms such as fever and cough. After nearly a month of treatment, Wang was discharged from the hospital.
Chinese officials said that the SFTS is not a new virus. According to reports, virologists believe that it spreads to humans by insects and then it can be transmitted from one person to another.
Sheng Jifang, a doctor at the first affiliated hospital under Zhejiang University, told media outlets that the possibility of human-to-human transmission could not be excluded. He said that patients can pass the virus to others through blood or mucus. In addition, the doctor warned that insect bites are the major transmission route for the SFTS virus.
