Washington: The US government has asked its citizens to avoid going to India in view of the serious condition of the coronavirus pandemic and the rapid increase of Covid-19 cases in the country.
US citizens who have taken both Covid-19 vaccines are also at risk of becoming coronavirus infected in India. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of the US, if it is very important to go to India, then US citizens should go only after taking both vaccines. Significantly, more than two lakh coronavirus cases are being reported daily in India for the last few days.
"Amid a surge in COVID cases (in India), travelers should avoid all travel to India. Even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting & spreading variants and should avoid all travel to India. If you must travel to India, get fully vaccinated before travel," the CDC posted on Twitter.
The world community is also worried about the coronavirus pandemic reaching dangerous levels in India. Many countries have started closing their borders to commuters from India. First of all Britain has closed its doors to all non British citizens coming from India. Russia has also decided to postpone the visa granting process in India for a few days.
At the same time, the US has banned visa interviews. Many small countries like Hong Kong and Pakistan have also banned those coming from India. These steps in these countries can also prove costly for civil aviation companies.
