Vibhuti Kakkar, Beijing: Chinese state councillor and foreign minister Wang Yi called U.S. President Joe Biden reopen talks between the two countries in order to resume the bilateral relations between the two which was earlier all spoiled under the presidency of Donald Trump.

Senior Chinese diplomat Wang said that Donald Trump’s presidency inflicted incalculable destruction between the two. Earlier, Trump called on Washington to remove the tariff on Chinese goods and wanted to suppress the Chinese tech sector.

Wang urged Washington to respect China and it’s core interests. Also to stop interfering in Beijing’s internal affairs.

"Over the past few years, the United States basically cut off bilateral dialogue at all levels," Wang said in prepared remarks translated into English.

"We stand ready to have candid communication with the U.S. side, and engage in dialogues aimed at solving problems.”

Multiple tensions have taken place between Washington and Beijing. They have clashed on multiple fronts including trade, accusations of human rights crimes against the Uighur Muslim minorities.

Therefore, the administration of Joe Biden has crticised the unfair trade practices of Beijing.
