New Delhi, News24 Bureau, June 20: International yoga day is around the corner and it’s the best opportunity to unveil the fitness secrets of few popular personalities like Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Indian ace batsman Shikhar Dhawan.
Yoga has become a rage worldwide and recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to share a series of asanas and also shed light on the importance of it on the overall health of a body.
And now after India’s historic victory over Pakistan in the ongoing ICC World Cup, the world is impressed not just with their performance but with the fitness level of the Indian cricket team.
Virat and Shikhar, who are also star performers in the Indian cricket team, swear by yoga for endurance and fitness.
Shikhar Dhawan's Yoga guru, Shri Manoj Kumar, said, “Shikhar used to be impulsive, which did not help him on the field. His tryst with yoga has helped in focus at one point, using his aggression for his betterment on the cricket field.''
The secret of Shikhar's fitness is Surya Namaskar, pranayama, shoulder, and a headstand and backbends. Virat Kohli, who is known for his on-field aggressive attitude also knows the art of staying calm and composed. Earlier, talking about his fitness inspiration, Virat wrote, ''I love this book.
