New Delhi: Two Army personnel have lost their lives during encounter with terrorists in J&K's Shopian on Thursday. Encounter lasted for half an hour and in the process two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists who were involved in many cases were also neutrilized. This official announcement was made by Shridhar Patil, SSP Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
Three weapons were recovered during joint operation by Army, CRPF and Police in Kulgam including one looted from a Police post in Oct'16.
Sources further informed that Militants killed in Kulgam were involved in the attack and loot of J&K Bank cash van in Kulgam on 1st May 17. in which militants had killed four cops and two bank security guards.
The security forces have recovered two weapons from the site of the encounter and further details are awaited.
One killed militant has been identified as a Aqib ahmad itoo From Gopalpora Kulgam & 2nd one is yet to be identified.
