New Delhi, September. 7: Facebook-owned WhatsApp has over 1.3 billion users, out of which around 250 million are in India. The messaging app is apparently one of the best chatting app and the company regularly adds features to make the service more useful and fun. These features first reach the WhatsApp beta testers before public roll out. WABetaInfo- a renowned WhatsApp update tracking website regularly reports the upcoming updates.
Here're some of the upcoming features that will be rolled out in the coming time:
WhatsApp ‘Swipe to Reply’
Swipe to reply is already available for iOS users and It was recently spotted in Android beta version 2.18.300, suggesting it will be soon be rolled out for Android users as well. The feature will allow users to quickly respond to a message by simply swiping right side, that will directly open the message in the reply. This will save the time of long pressing a message and clicking on the reply icon to reply
WhatsApp ads for Status
WhatsApp plans to add advertisements to the Status feature, which will reportedly be similar to Stories on Instagram. WABetaInfo claims that the messaging app plans implement ads on the iOS version. The company officially insists that ads on Status for iOS will not weaken the end-to-end encryption.
WhatsApp ‘Biscuit’ sticker pack
This was announced at Facebook’s F8 conference earlier this year. So the messaging app will have its own set of stickers. According to WABetaInfo, sticker preview was available for WhatsApp Android beta version 2.18.218.
