New Delhi, Oct 19: Virat Kohli is all set to beat the great Sachin Tendulkar and add yet another feather in his crowded cap. Indian captain is on verge of becoming the fastest to 10000 runs in ODIs. And in the process he will be the fifth Indian batsman and 13th overall to join the elite club. The 29-yr old Kohli will get his opportunity when India start their ODI campaign against the West Indies on October 21 in Guwahati. India will play 5 ODIs against the visitors.As of now Kohli has 9779 runs in 203 ODI innings at an average of 58.20. That is, he needs just 221 runs to reach the milestone of 10,000 runs. Once he gets to that he will be fifth Indian to do so after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sachin had taken 259 innings to complete 10000 runs.Sachin is world number 1 with 18426 runs in ODIs. He is followed by Kumar Sangakkara (14234 runs), Ricky Ponting (13704 runs), Sanath Jayasuriya (13430 runs), Mahela Jayawardene (12650 runs), Inzamam-ul Haq (11739 runs), Jacques Kallis (11579 runs), Sourav Ganguly (11363 runs), Rahul Dravid (10889 runs), Brian Lara (10405 runs), Tillakaratne Dilshan (10290 runs) and MS Dhoni (10123 runs).
