Ram Vilas Paswan gets a rude shock when he went inside his kitchen to prepare Russian salad; Rs 420/ Kg apple was coated with harmful wax and the fruitseller was in for a big trouble
New Delhi, Sep 18: Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan is a foodie and loves to cook as well off and on. A big controversy and problem was brewing when the minister decided to make Russian salad one day. The apples were fetched from the nearby Khan Market and the juicy, luscious and shiny red-apples looked tempting.
But what shocked the minister was that despite washing it, again and again, the layer of gloss on the apple remained intact and this, the minister, found not normal. When it was scratched it was found that it was well-coated with wax. Nothing entirely wrong with that, as there is permission to coat the apple with wax, but only with good quality edible wax. When investigated thoroughly it was found that it was coated with a sub-standard wax.
This infuriated the senior minister no end and an inquiry was ordered by the concerned ministry and the fruitseller in the Khan Market was in for a rude shock as all hell broke on him. What happened then? See this video to know the entire story:
