New Delhi, September 5: Ravindra Jadeja local boy of Rajkot today scored his maiden test century and helped Indian team post 649/9. Jadeja struck an unbeaten 100 off 132 off balls and all it took more than 5 years and 38 tests.
Jadeja celebrated maiden century with his trademark sword celebration. Jadeja who hails from a Rajput family and sword celebration is a key element in their celebrations.
Last time Jadeja came close to his maiden test century was against England in Mohali but unfortunately, he was dismissed on 90. Today the local boy was fortunate enough to earn life as he was dropped on 78 by Hetymer after which he went on to score his century.
The moment turned more special as it came in front of his home crowd in Rajkot so each and every one in the stands got off their seats applauding the deserving centurion.
It has been a good last 30 days for the southpaw, who scored a gritty 86 in the final Test in England before making an impressive ODI comeback with the Asia Cup in Dubai.Jadeja enthralled the sparse crowd at SCA stadium with aerial hits which came mainly off the spinners.
