Video: DD staffer records a heart-touching message for his mother amid blaring Naxal gunshots in Dantewada

New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Oct 31: This is certainly going to be one of the most heart-touching videos and will go down as one of the most memorable one in the annals of history. Doordarshan light assistant Mormukut Sharma was looking into the eyes of death when the Naxal attacked in Dantewada. As he was gearing up to embrace death, Sharma recorded an emotional and heart-wrenching message for his motherThe Doordarshan crew, which had gone to cover the Naxal attack, was attacked and a DD cameraman also lost his life on the spot.Doordarshan light assistant Mormukut Sharma was also there and amid gunshots and cries of death, he recorded a heart-touching message for his mother. Sharma was having a close shave with death with the sounds of gun-shots surrounding him. He was asked to lie flat on the belly and while lying down he recorded a message for his mother, thinking that he will die any moment now.In the video Sharma begins the message by giving a detail information about the attack which is happening around him. The guns are blaring in the background as he records, "I had come to Dantewada on election coverage." "The firing guns are around us and ... security personnel was with us... Suddenly Naxals surrounded us.""Maa mein tumhe bahot pyaar karta hun... ho sakta hai mein iss hamle mein maara jau (Mom, I love you... I may die in this attack," Sharma sounds composed and calm, perhaps sensing that death is knocking and he will be shot any moment.

Sharma is also heard in other videos asking for water. Amid loud gunshots he is hearing asking for a glass of water desperately.

Two police personnel and a Doordarshan cameraman were killed in a Naxal attack in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Tuesday which took place in Nilawaya village under the Aranpur police station.Those killed were identified as Sub Inspector Rudra Pratap, Assistant Constable Mangalu and DD News cameraman Achyutanand from Delhi.The state is gearing up for Assembly polls in two phases on November 12 and 20.DD Cameraman Achyutananda Sahu died in the Naxal attack:

Supriya Sahu, Director General, Doordarshan, tweeted her condolence: "Terribly sad news about the killing of Doordarshan Cameraperson Shri Achyutananda Sahu and CRPF Jawans in the Naxal attack at Dantewada. Our hearts go out to the families of our brave cameraperson Shri Achyutananda Sahu and CRPF Jawans who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Salute and respect from Doordarshan family." A cameraman from national broadcaster Doordarshan has been killed in an attack by Naxals in Dantewada's Aranpur area in Chhattisgarh.Just last week, four soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force were killedFour soldiers were killed after Maoists blew up their anti-landmine vehicle in Bijapur district. Two other CRPF jawans were injured in the improvised explosive device or IED blast.The Doordarshan crew was in Chhattisgarh to cover the elections. The first phase of the elections will be held in 18 constituencies in the eight Naxal-affected districts - Bastar, Kanker, Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Rajnandgaon.Naxals had recently put up posters in parts of Bastar region calling for boycott of the polls.
