New Delhi, May 19: If you find the process of updating your address on your Aadhar card too difficult to handle, there some good news for you. The government has introduced a new intiative which is expected to make the process much simpler and easier for you.
Under the new system, you can update the address of your new home even if you do not have any address proof document like passport, bank statement, bank passbook, voter ID card, driving license, or electricity bill among others.
All you need is the consent and authentication of the address verifier who could be a family member, relative, friend or landlord, provided they are willing to let you use their address as proof.
You need to follow the steps mentioned below in order to use this new feature afer you request for generation of Aadhaar validation letter on the UIDAI website:
1) The address verifier will get a link through SMS to give consent for the update.
2) Click on the link to generate an OTP for consent.
3) After the Aadhar verifier registers his consent, he/she will receive an address validation letter with a secret code to his/her postal address within the subsequent 30 days.
4) Click on the ‘Proceed to Update Address’ link on the Aadhar website and update your new address using the secret code received by the verifier.
