TV Reality shows igniting dreams of talented kids

Renu Baliyan, New Delhi, Nov 14: The advent of Television was a game changer for the Indian societies. While it had something for all the members of the family, it was the reality shows meant to judge the talented kids which was lapped up by the societies. TV Reality Shows like Little champs, Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikla Jaa, Indian Idol, to name a few, are igniting the dreams of young children and inspiring them to dream big.

There have been many TV reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Lil Champs, Sabse Bada Kalakaar, Junior Masterchef India, Super Dancer which are giving direction to the talented kids of India. Talneted kids were always there but the platforms from where they could have ample exposure were limited. And here the reality shows on Indian TV pitched in.
These reality shows feature young children on Indian television involved in dancing competition, singing competition or cooking competition. These shows help in finding the budding talent and offering them the required platform that will assist in enhancing their skills to achieve perfection.  
The reality shows have emerged as great platforms to discover and highlight potential or talent of the young aspirants who want to make it big. 

These days many parents aspire to get that much needed platform which will help in boosting the skills of their little champs. Young children also dream of getting that launchpad that help them showcase their talent and skills in the best way possible. 
The success stories of Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan have inspired many children and parents. They were discovered as child artists on reality shows. Sunidhi was barely 13-years-old when she won India's first singing reality show on Doordarshan, Meri Aawaz Suno. “The year was 1996 and it was pure competition,” remembers Sunidhi.  
Reality shows have witnessed several change over the years. Sunidhi was judged by legends such as Lata Mangeshkar, Bhupen Hazarika and Manna Dey and the winners were chosen on the basis of their performances. However, these days there is a system of  vote-and-SMS from the audience. 
The popular dance show Boogie Woogie and the singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, both of which started as contests for adults, were introduced in an all-new avatar targeting children as well. So now-a-days these reality TV shows have thrown open many avenues for young children to explore their hidden talent.  

Sony's Indian Idol also created a big frenzy. One still remembers the much-watched show Indian Idol which became very famous as it was a wonderful platform for the talented and budding youth. Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana became overnight star and entire world got divided between these two participants. Abhijeet became the winner and Amit Sana was the runner up.  
These reality TV shows also draw huge TRPs and are watched by million of people all over the world. So if you have a love for singing, dancing or cooking, do not let it remain inside you. Pursue your talent as you never know that tomorrow you may become the winner of one of these reality TV shows.
