Bengaluru: In Karnataka, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids at several locations and during searched have recovered Rs. 13 lakh from one of the drainage pipes at the house of PWD ( Public Works Department) junior engineer in Kalaburagi.
In the video, ACB officers can be seen pulling out a number of Rs. 500 notes stashed in a drainage pipe of the Junior engineer.
Mahesh Meghannanavar, SP, North Eastern Range, ACB said, "Total Rs. 54 lakhs in cash found during the raid, including Rs. 13 lakhs recovered from one of the drainage pipes at the house of a PWD junior engineer."
Simultaneous searches were carried out by ACB at 68 locations across Karnataka targeting 15 government officials in various departments as part of a probe into alleged disproportionate assets, on November 24. Houses and offices of the officials and their relatives in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mandya and in some districts were searched by teams.
The raids were conducted amid an ongoing massive operation at the headquarters and other offices of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in Bengaluru.
Raids were conducted on the properties of K S Lingegowda, Executive Engineer, Mangaluru Smart City Limited; Lakshminarashimaiah, Revenue Inspector at Doddaballapur; Srinivas K, Executive Engineer of Hemavati Left Bank Canal (HLBC), Mandya; Vasudev, former project manager of Nirmiti Kendra; B Krishnareddy, General Manager of Nandini Milk Products of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF); A K Masti, Co-operative Development Officer at Savadatti town; Sadashiv Maralingannanavar, Senior Motor Inspector at Gokak; Nathaji Heeraji Patil, Group C employee of Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) and others.
