Lucknow: UP TET 2021, Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday (November 28) has been cancelled due to a paper leak. The UP TET 2021 paper 1 was to start at 10 am, however, just ahead of the commencement of the test, the question paper went viral on several WhatsApp groups in Mathura, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr.
Uttar Pradesh Police Additional Director General (ADG) for Law and order, Prashant Kumar said, "Dozens of suspects detained by STF in the paper leak case, the investigation is underway. The Uttar Pradesh government will conduct the exam again within a month."
As many as 21.5 lakh candidates were scheduled to take the UP TET 2021 exam, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). Candidates, who could not take the teacher eligibility test today, will not have to pay any examination fee again when it will be conducted next month.
UP TET 2021 was to be conducted at several designated examination centres across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
UP TET 2021 exam consists of two papers. UPTET paper 1 timings were from 10 am to 12:30 pm and was conducted for candidates willing to get employment as primary school teachers for classes 1 to 5. The paper 2 of UPTET 2021 is for higher primary school teachers for classes 6 to 8 which will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
The examination is being conducted under strict COVID-19 protocols.
