New Delhi: National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) official Twitter handle has been hacked late on January 22 (Saturday), NDRF Director General Atul Karwal informed today.
"National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Twitter handle was hacked on Saturday, January 22. We will look into it right away," NDRF DG Atul Karwal said.
The officer said technical experts are looking into the issue and the handle will be restored soon.
The Twitter handle - @NDRFHQ - on Saturday posted some random messages for a brief period of time and the already published messages were not loading and reflecting on the page. However, the official display photo and details in the bio section of the federal force were visible.
Set up in 2006, the NDRF is a federal contingency force against natural and man-made disasters. The force works under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and has rescued more than 1.44 lakh human lives and has also evacuated over seven lakh stranded people from disaster situations within the country and abroad. On January 19, NDRF had celebrated its 17th Raising Day.
