New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut is in legal trouble, once again! The actress, who was recently indulged in an ugly verbal spat with singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, is now facing many legal charges against her over her alleged offensive tweets in connection to the farmers' protests.
According to reports, The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee(DSGMC) has sent a legal notice to the actor over her derogatory tweet in which she had allegedly misidentified an elderly Sikh woman at the Farmers' Protests as Shaheen Bagh's Bilkis Bano.
“We have sent a legal notice to @KanganaTeam for her derogatory tweet calling the aged mother of a farmer as a woman available for Rs 100. Her tweets portray farmers protest as anti-national. We demand an unconditional apology from her for her insensitive remarks on farmers protest,” Manjinder Singh Sirsa, DSGMC’s president, said in a tweet on Friday.
Prior to this, a Punjab-based lawyer had also sent a notice to the Manikarnika actress over the same now deleted tweet.
“I sent a legal notice for a tweet misidentifying Mohinder Kaur as Bilkis Bano with an insinuation that she (Kaur) was available as a hired protestor for Rs 100. The notice gives Ranaut seven days to issue an apology failing which a defamation case will be pursued,” Singh had said.
Kangana has been vocal against farmers who have been protesting in the National Capital over recently passed three agriculture related laws. Her alleged defamatory tweets have brought the whole Punjabi entertainment industry together.
Many top singers including Ammy Virk, Mika Singh and Jassie Gill among others have joined in Dijlit Dosanjh in slamming the actress for her derogatory statements. Actors such as Sargun Mehta, Himanshi Khurana and Prince Narula have also lent support to the GOAT.
Sharing the photo and tweet of Kangana, Mika wrote, “I used to have immense respect for @kanganaranaut , I even tweeted in support when her office was demolished. I now think I was wrong, Kangana being a woman you should show the old lady some respect. If you have any etiquette then apologise. Shame on you… #farmers.”
“#kangna oh tera fufad @diljitdosanjh 2002 vich e star ban gya c teri odo nali vagdi huni dhukki kadd pyi jatt ne sare passe we all love him nd sardar kde kise d gulami nhi krde apne dumm te aya agge tenu app nu pata nhi hona tu kinya d chamchi aa es time #kangna (Kangana, Diljit Dosanjh is much above your station. He became a star in 2002. He has proven himself everywhere. And when have the Sikhs bowed down to anyone? You yourself don’t know whose follower you are right now),” wrote Ranjeet.
