New Delhi: Keeping in mind the safety & well-being of candidates and exam functionaries during covid19 outbreak in Delhi, a week-long lockdown has been announced recently.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has also released a new guideline. The university has imposed various restrictions on campus. At the same time, the campus has also issued a notification in this regard.
The JNU, in an order issued late on Monday, said all dhabas and eateries will remain out of bounds for customers, however, home delivery service will be allowed.
It also restricted the movement of hawkers and "domestic help/maids, drivers, gardeners and car cleaners hired by the residents" on the campus.
"Visiting to another home or hostel inside the residential area/hostel complex is strictly prohibited. The movement within the campus shall be restricted during the curfew timings," the university said.
JNU has also strictly prohibited walking, running on the stadium. However, persons engaged in emergency or essential services will be allowed to travel. During this time these individuals will have to show a valid ID card. Apart from this, all other employees will work from home or as per the instructions of departmental heads.
In view of the announcement of curfew by the Government of Delhi, recently, the University has closed the Dr. BR Ambedkar Central Library from 8 pm on 19.04.2021 (Monday) to 26.04.2021 (Monday) at 9 am. Jawaharlal Nehru University as well as Delhi University recently issued guidelines related to Covid-19 transition. At the same time, the number of corona cases in JNU is increasing. There have been reports of 74 people on campus being Corona positive.
