New Delhi (Aarti Pokhriyal): India will begin again their batting from a score 300/6 on Day 2. Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant helped the hosts to put India in a good position in the second Test against England, in Chennai on Saturday.
Rohit Sharma hit a hundred with 17 boundaries and two sixes in his innings of 161 while Ajinkya Rahane scored a half-century. India won a toss and chose to bat, lost three wickets in the opening session in the form of opener Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli.
Rishabh Pant (33*), and Axar Patel are unbeaten, and to help India score a huge first innings total on a surface at the MA Chidambaram stadium. For England, Jack Leach was the choice of the bowlers, who finished with figures of 2-78. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill went wrong to trouble the scorers but Ajinkya Rahane sticks on the crease as he hit an expressive half-century before India lost three wickets in the final session on Saturday.
