Mumbai: As the daily number of covid-19 cases in the country continue to soar higher, the Western Railways on Thursday announced that Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express services would be suspended from April 2.
The Divisional Railway Manager of Western Railway's Mumbai division took to Twitter on Thursday evening to share the information.
"Suspension of Train No. 82902/82901 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas express with effect form 02-04-2021 for the period of one month," the tweet said.
"Night curfews have also been implemented in both the connecting states, which may cause inconvenience to passengers in general," said an official of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), an undertaking of Indian Railways.
The services of this train were resumed for four days a week from February 14 this year. After being suspended for over six months, the services of Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express had begun in October, only to be restricted in November due to low occupancy.
On Thursday, at 72,330, India logs in highest daily Covid cases in six months. The country has been reporting high surge in daily number of cases since past one month.
