Mumbai: As many as 26 of the 120 vaccination centres in Mumbai have run out of vaccine doses, while another 25 centres are likely to not have any vaccine doses available by Friday. In other 20 centres, the vaccine jabs are expected to run out by the end of the day, said additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani.
If Centre doesn't send more doses at the earliest, most of the vaccination centres in the city will dry up soon, he added.
This comes after State Health Minister Rajesh Thope urged Centre to make vaccination available for all, while crying vaccine scarcity as he said the city will run out of vaccine doses in three days.

Mumbai has 120 designated Centres to inoculate people against covid-19, of which, 73 are private medical institutions while the remaining are government-run hospitals.
Data suggests that vaccination centres in Maharashtra's Sangli, Satara, Gondia and Chandrapur have also run out of doses.
The concerning development has come at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing the worst surge of cases since the onset of the pandemic. It has attributed to over 50 per cent of overall daily cases of the country as the state alone reported 59,907 cases on Thursday.
