New Delhi: Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain, on Monday said 100 per cent of eligible population in the national capital have been inoculated with the first dose of COVID vaccine.
Jain also informed that 80 per cent of the Delhi's population have already received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Precautionary dose or third dose, which is also being called booster shot, has been administered to 1.28 lakh eligible people in the national capital.
"100 per cent eligible population inoculated with first dose of COVID vaccine, 80 per cent with second dose. Around 1.28 lakh people received precautionary dose," Jain said.
The drive to administer booster dose or precaution dose to healthcare workers, frontline workers and people above age of 60 years with comorbidities started in the country on January 10 this year.
Satyendar Jain also said Delhi is expected to see a decline in new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The minister said, "Delhi to report around 14,000-15,000 cases today, much less than yesterday (Sunday). Around 2.85 crore doses have been administered in Delhi."

As per the Delhi health department bulletin on Sunday, 2,85,34,771 (2 crore 85 lakh 34 thousand 7 hundred and 71) doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the national capital so far.
Of these, 1,64,88,980 (1 crore 64 lakh 88 thousand 9 hundred and 80) people have received their first dose, while 1,19,19,282 (1 crore 19 lakh 19 thousand 2 hundred and 82) got their second dose of COVID vaccine.
