1. Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune:

In addition to being a historical delight, localites claim to have heard unknown crying voice from inside, pleading for help. The voice, persumably a young prince was brutally murdered by one of his very own relatives in the fort, cries out " Kaka mala vachwa" which means Uncle save me, during full moon nights.

2. Fern Hill Hotel, Ooty:

This hotel shot to fame after being featured in the movie Raaz but soon shut down due to unavoidable paranormal activities. One of the famous reported incident was the one when Choreographer Saroj Khan along with her troupe spent an early night in and were unable to sleep due to disturbing noises. The noises of furniture being rearranged in the room above their's kept them wide awake. Desparate for sleep, they called the reception but found the phone dead which was just fine a few minutes ago the noise started coming. A few went down to the reception to complain only to be taken out of the hotel and shown that their was no floor of the hotel nabove their room.

3.Dow Hills, West Bengal:

Reported suicides and nervous breakdowns  are common sights in the hills of Dow. Called the Death Road by the locals, those who survived claimed to have been chased by a headless boy who apparently disappears into the woods only to show up later in their nightmares. 

4.Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan:

If you decide to visit the town after sunset, you will be not be allowed. In fact, there is a strict warning that it is out of bounds after the sun sets. The story which this town is well-known for tells the tale of how a magician who was in love with the local princess of the area was forbidden to ever fall in love with her and before dying, the magician cast a dark spell on the palace which caused its doom. 

5.Dumas Beach, Surat, Gujarat:

Considered one of the most haunted places in India, Dumas beach was once a cremation ground for Hindus and that’s when the stories begin to bud. You can test the waters yourself by taking a midnight stroll along the beach, if you have company. If the testimonies are anything to go by, then you will also be greeted by warnings asking you to not cross a certain line while on the beach. 

6.D’Souza Chawl- Mahim, Mumbai: 

Residents of the chawl, that ha been in stories many times, believe that there was a woman, who while filling water from the well, plunged to her death since the well was boundary-less. There have been many sightings of a white apparition who many consider to be the lady.

7. Jatinga Valley, Assam:

These are mass suicide committed by birds migrating to Jatinga on a supernatural basis. What is creepier is the fact that this happens only on no-moon days between 6.00 PM to 9.30 PM, during the months of September and October.  It is also said that these bird suicides happen only on a stretch of 1 mile by 600 ft land.

8. Lothian Cemetery, Delhi:

The oldest burial ground for Christians in Delhi is also the ground for unexplainable activities. Resembling stories of a horror movie, people claim to have seen a headless ghost walking in the Cemetery with his head in hands. Who is to say if it is true?

9. The Mansion, Residency Road – Pune: 

If you frequently come across the Mansion on the Residency road late at night,terrifying sounds, weird laughter and loud screams would seem like a normal thing. The locals tell a tale that this place is haunted by a wicked old lady.

10. Raj Kiran Hotel Lonavla:

Famous for it's haunted room behind the reception lobby, the picturesque Lonavla destination is not deprived of supernatural energies. Guests who stayed in the room claim to have experienced someone pulling their bedsheet even after they have woken up, strange cooling in the room with a turned out air conditioning and humid outside and movements in the room. The room is not given out to guests unless it is asked for.
