Thok tali! Kohli achieves personal best test ranking

New Delhi: There’s no stopping  Indian Skipper Virat Kohli. He continues to break records and inch towards new records. His stature in world cricket is growing, something that is reflected in the latest ICC Test rankings.

Though Kohli could not edge past Australian captain Steve Smith as number one test batsman in world, he did manage to get his highest ever test ranking points. He got 20 points after his double hundred against Bangladesh, which took his tally to 895, his career best. It is third highest rating points achieved by an Indian player, behind Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulakar.

With 895 points, Kohli occupies 2nd spot. Steve Smith is 38 points ahead of Kohli , and with 933 points he is world number 1. England’s new Test captain  Joe Root is at number 3 with 848 points, followed by New Zealand  skipper Kane Williamson, who is at 4th position with 823 points. That means, the top four batsmen are all captains.
