New Delhi, Oct 31: Look at the travesty of justice; what can you say when one who is supposed to get law implemented himself becomes a law breaker? This is exactly what happened when an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, aspiring to enter the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), was arrested for cheating in the civil services main exam with Bluetooth equipment.
Safeer Karim, currently an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tirunelvelli district, was caught talking to his wife in Hyderabad for answers, according to a police officer.
The officer said being caught for cheating in exams will have a serious effect on Karim’s career.
The trainee IPS officer was allegedly caught trying to do a Munnabhai to better his UPSC score here on Monday. Akin to Sanjay Dutt in the Bollywood blockbuster Munnabhai MBBS he used a bluetooth-linked device to write his medical term tests. Karim, who is 27-year-old, was caught red-handed using a cellphone and wireless earphones while taking the civil services exam.
He had cleared the UPSC exam in 2015 with an All India Rank of 112, and is currently posted as trainee Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tirunelveli district. He was caught when he was writing the general studies paper at the Presidency Girls Higher Secondary School in Egmore. The Intelligenge Bureau officers caught him as his wife Joicy Joy was on the other side of the phone and was dictating answers to him. THe IB officers had doubts as Karim wrote another paper on Sataurday. They were watching him. To create an impression he had handed over the cell phone before entering the examination hall.
